Final Essay

 Have you ever thought of being a princess? I think some girls had thought about it. Then who? What princess? This is the question. What I think is that Merida from movie "Brave" is the most positive role model for girls. Actually this is the topic of final essay. Now, are you ready to listen my three reasons?

First reason why I thought Merida is the most positive rolel model for girls is because she is very active. I felt strongly that she was active while I was watching this movie. I think you can probably notice this by just watching at her appearance. She has red curly hair which you can see on left side, and also she is holding a bow. Just like what I said before, she likes to hunt and work on fierce things. However, most women does not like being brave. They all think that being brave or loud is bad. To compare with other princess in Disney, I'll try with Snow White. I think you all know basic personality of Snow White. She is so quiet and works like cleaning dishes or house. What I want to say on first paragraph is this. "Woman should try to do many activities."

For the second reason, she has ability to fight well. Many people say that women should be protected. Yes of course it's true. However, they should at least try to get protected. They recongnized that men wouldn't hit them. ?????? They should change what they think. Merida even had fought better than men. While I watched the movie, it was very exciting to see the actions. There's one more princess who I think fights well. It's Mulan. I could notice this by her strong personality.

The last reason is because Merida doesn't care about her appearance a lot. In these days, many girls take care of their appearance a lot. In woman's view, I think they will disagree with my third reason, but in man's view too many control can be felt awful or disgusting. Why does people have recognition that woman should do make-ups? Yes, it's true that doing a bit or doing on important days are OK. However, many women think that make-up or taking care of their appearance is necessary. Why do they do that? Parents made it for them. I couldn't see Merida doing make-ups. 

Well, this was the three reasons why I think that Merida will be best role model for girls. Thank you for listening. And bye~~~~~~~

Movie "Brave"

Hello everyone, today I'll write about Dizney movie "Brave". Actually, I didn't know what was movie "Brave". However, after noticing that it was "Merida" in Korea, I knew what it was. We watched movie "Brave" in hall with many people in big screen. Basically, I really enjoyed the movie and I'll write about things that was fun and about the movie.

In the first part of the movie, Merida appeard when she was young. She was a princess because her mother was a queen. Queen Elinor told her to be quiet, modest, not being active and being kind. I think that she was kind but she was bery active, loud and not modest. One day, she saw her father doing archery so she had a curiosity of archery. As a result, father realized that and gave her small bow for birthday present. She was happy and worked hard practicing it. When times past, she became a perfect archer. In this point, I felt that she was active and not modest.

Comparing with Snow White



To compare snow white and merida, there are many differences. I'll talk three most big differences specifically. First, movie that they were was different.(Very Easy One) Snow white appeard at movie called "Snow white and seven dwarfs" which was shown to world at 1937. Movie "Brave" which Merida appeard was  premierd at 2011 in Korea. It has a really long period of time between these two movies. As a result, computer graphics and background would have a lot of differences.

Second, character's characteristic is opposite. I can mention that snow white was modest because she didn't do things like burning firewoods. She realied on seven dwarfs to do it. On the contrary, like what I said before, Merida liked archering which was useful for hunting which I thought that it was fierce and active.

Last, snow white did marry but Merida didn't. Snow White could marry with prince which is a long story that you know. However, I couldn't notice that Merida had married.

->Adora Svitak: What adults can learn from kids

In writing class, we saw a video called "What adults can learn from kids". Adora Svitak who seemed like our age had progressed. I was impressed that  13 or 14 year old girl could presentate it so well. She strongly argued that adults have something to learn from kids too. There are many things that we should learn from adults, but I believe that adults have something to learn from kids too. I can think about two basic theories.

First theory that I thought was relationship. Yes, adults does make relationship great, but I think it's more easier for childrens. For example, we came to a camp but doesn't now anybody. Then, making friends is important. To do this, people should talk or play each other. In this point, I think childrens has a bit more advantage.

My second theory is same as Adora. I think childrens have a lot of possibilities. We live in new generation and can experience a lot of things. When we experience a lot of thins, we can be brave in every situations. As a result, I believe that adults should learn kid's experience. And I think these two theories are what adults should learn from kids.

After watching this video, I decided to have my own challenge while I'm in GLPS camp.
My first goal is to memorize 7 english words that I didn't know. So this in what I want to add. To support this goal, I made 3steps. First is to note words that I didn't know from class. For example, if I didn't know word "signpost" just for example, I can note in my book. Than 7words will be easily founded. What do I have to do next? Yes, I should find what does it means. I should find definition in second step. To use same example, I wroted down in my book word "signpost" because I didn't know what it meant. I looked for it. It means basic summary of a paragraph. At the last step, I can write down words and definitions.

My second goal is reducing time playing game. I can't really play many games here, but I do when other roomates does it. I shouldn't follow them. Like my first goal, I made three steps to support too. My first step is not being late to submit phone to PA. We should turn phones back when it's 6:30pm. I shouldn't be late for that. My second step is study even when there is a phone. Actually this part is most hard one. If I can solve this, it's most cleared. Lastly, I should go to my home and play games. I came here to study, not play games. As a result, I want to achieve this goal.

Hello? My name is Lim-Hyun-Soo(James). I came to GLPS camp because my friend recommended it for me. I'm writing on 4th day and it was fun while in 4 days camp. Most interesting I did was taking a sleep. Well, I wish I enjoy the rest of the camp.
Food I like is Salmon and spagetti. I like soft things such as Salmon. Also it melts in my mouth. Like mister Kiger likes to eat Tacos, I like Salmons.
Sport I like to play or watch is baseball. I really know every korean baseball players. I've bent to real stadium for few times.
